Alec Calvillo is a passionate photographer from Southern California who loves Concert photography, portraits, writing and video. The devotion to photography came in 2016 when he picked up an inexpensive Nikon DSLR camera and began to photograph concerts.  

His journey began in high school when he was exposed to film photography and the developmental process in the dark room. It was until he attended Riverside City College, where he would really discover his passion for photography. It was his professor’s ability to inspire students through storytelling and teaching the fundamentals of photography in an enjoyable way. 

Alec attended the University of California State, Fullerton. He graduated with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in American Studies. This is where he wrote for the Daily Titan, and learned the crafts of journalism. 

Concert Photography is where he gained most of his knowledge. He would follow his best friend’s band sundiver ca to all of the shows. Whether it was backyard DIY shows or bars, Alec would document all of sundiver’s shows through photography and video. 

Today, apart from working on photoshoots of his own, he works with Future First, a student run production company that makes short films, commercials, music videos, and podcasts. You can see Future First content at futurefirstentertainment.com.

Alec also works on another project with his best friends called Softhouse. It’s a multimedia company that focuses on providing live sessions, photoshoots, studio recording, and focuses on promoting independent artists from the I.E. who may not have much of a platform.
